Richard Harker is the Photo Coach on board Abercrombie & Kent's voyages to Antarctica, the Arctic, Northwest Passage, and Japan.
Richard’s photographic career spans over 40 years including a stint as a college photography instructor and a decade shooting underwater across Indo-Pacific islands including Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Indonesia, Tonga, Palau, and many others.
He’s spent the last twenty years focusing on expedition photography. His work has taken him to all four corners of the world including Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and from Antarctica to the Arctic.
The galleries you see here are collections of images shot while serving as Photo Coach on board A&K's expedition ships. They were shot with a variety of equipment, primarily Canon 5D series and Nikon D810 and D500 cameras.
Richard is agnostic when it comes to equipment. He believes there is no perfect camera so he shoots with the equipment that he thinks does the best job.
